Supporting families in need.
Sunshine Bendigo is a community-based, volunteer group that provides practical support to families experiencing challenging times in the Central Victoria region.
The organisation was established in 2016 due to the growing need in the area for families requiring a helping hand to provide for their families.
As a registered charity with a DGR status, Sunshine Bendigo collects, sorts, and redistributes essential new and pre-loved baby goods and nursery equipment to families in need.
All items re-homed are checked to meet current Australian Safety Standards and are in good working condition.

A new year. A new beginning. A new opportunity.
I am genuinely excited to welcome 2026. The possibilities of what we can achieve motivates me.
We were founded on the belief that anything is possible when we all work together to support babies and children in need.
We believe in the potential of children to grow healthy and strong if they have the care they need.
We believe in the potential of used goods to have a purposeful second life. Most of all, we believe in the potential of our community when we come together to help.
Powered by an army of incredible people who share our vision, our volunteers are at the heart of what we do.
On any given day, our warehouse is bustling with the chatter and energy that these incredible people bring to our community. With the courage to do whatever it takes to achieve our mission and the backing of our incredible community, Sunshine Bendigo provides judgment free support to thousands of babies and children each year.
We have not been able to achieve this level of service provision without a truly generous community that continues to place value in and support the work we strive to accomplish.

This coming year at Sunshine Bendigo we celebrate 10 years of operation, and reflect on the impact we have had in our community, but more important is the 3000+ babies and children’s lives we have been able to assist by the hard work our team has put in and the value and quality of the service we have provided.
A new year brings new goals and our service has never been more vital than today. Feedback we receive from parents and carers tells us that the gift of a cot, a car seat, a pram, some clothes, toys or books from Sunshine Bendigo not only provides the practical support their child needs, it also supports the child’s carer. They feel that they matter, and that their life has value too. It gives them that boost of self esteem to tackle life’s challenges head on. To know that others in the community care enough to provide these essentials for their children makes an intangible world of difference.
Like many Australian charities, the cost of living is impacting our fundraising revenue. And so, we continue to ask for financial donations that are critical to our future.
