The volunteer intends to work as a volunteer for the organisation with this agreement.
1/ ORGANISATIONS VALUES

Sunshine Bendigo gives the community an alternative to re-cycle and re home much loved baby goods.
Our mission is in partnership with support agencies, to meet the material needs of families with young children in the Bendigo district and surrounds. We collect, sort and redistribute essential nursery equipment, clothing, books and toys to families in need.
2/ VOLUNTEER SERVICES
• The volunteer will be donating time to the organisation as a volunteer in the capacity outlined.
• In the role, the volunteer will be providing the following services;
Collection. Cleaning. Sorting. Collating. Collaborating. Administration. Fundraising.
In our material aid team our volunteers prepare the donated goods for re-homing and re-using knowing they will be used to support families with a new baby. In this team volunteers are required to have a high level of attention to detail, an interest in “repairing” items and an understanding of Australian Standards for nursery items.
Our administration team maintains accurate book-keeping, deals with enquiries and has to ensure compliance standards are achieved for the not-for-profit and DGR accreditation held by Sunshine Bendigo. Looks for opportunities & applies for grants both local & national.
Fundraising is an essential part of any NFP Organisation and this team look for opportunities or promote opportunities presented to them. They are also in control of the group’s social media presence and public awareness.
• The volunteer and the organisation agree that the volunteer is not an employee or contractor of the organisation.
• As the agreement relates to work being performed on a voluntary basis, the volunteer is under no obligation to perform the volunteer services and may choose not to provide volunteer services at any time. However, the volunteer acknowledges that in order for the organisation to operate effectively it is important that the organisation can rely on volunteers to make their best effort to comply with any pre-arranged schedules.
3/THE ORGANISATION ASKS THAT ITS VOLUNTEERS;
a/ act with honesty and integrity at all times while representing the organisation.
b/ support and act in accordance with the organisations purposes, goals and values.
c/ take the time to review and understand any policies, guidelines and manuals provided to the volunteer by the organisation.
d/ only perform duties which the volunteer is qualified or authorised to perform.
e/ behave appropriately and courteously to all other volunteers, associates, supporters and clients of the organisation, and all members of the public when representing the organisation and/or providing the volunteer services.
f/ avoid being under the influence of drugs or alcohol while providing the volunteer services.
g/ promptly notify a supervisor or another member of any accidents or incidents.
h/ promptly notify a supervisor or another member of any health and safety or potentially dangerous situations related to the organisation.
i/ the volunteer will use any equipment or resources given by the organisation for the purposes of providing volunteer services and in accordance with any instructions given.
j/ immediately notify the supervisor and/or the organisation if there are any changes in the volunteer circumstances or health issues which mean that the volunteer is unable to continue performing the volunteer services.
k/ the volunteer agrees to follow all directions and instructions given by the supervisor or volunteer in charge.
4/ WAGES
• The volunteer understands that this role is without wages or a salary.
• If it is decided in the future that the volunteer will be engaged with the organisation in some other capacity, such as an employee or contractor. Then a written agreement will set out with the new terms of relationship.
5/ REIMBURSEMENT
• The volunteer will be reimbursed for any purchases made on behalf of the organisation, where prior approval has been agreed upon.
6/ HEALTH AND SAFETY
• The health and safety of all volunteers, as well as anyone else involved with the organisation is a priority to the organization.
• The organisation has safety obligations to the volunteer as well as people with whom the volunteer may interact while providing the volunteer services.
• The volunteer has obligations to look out for their own health and safety. The volunteer also has safety obligations toward other volunteers and people they may interact with.
• The volunteer acknowledges that they may be personally liable in the event of any injury or damage which occurs as a result of failing to comply with this agreement.
• The organisation must have all appropriate and adequate insurance for volunteers while the volunteer is providing volunteer services.
7/ CONFIDENTIALITY
• The volunteer acknowledges all data, knowledge, and proprietary information, generated through, originating from, or having to do with the organisation or people and programs associated with its activities, is to be considered confidential information, and is not to be disclosed to any outside party.
• Client information, including all file information is not to be disclosed to any third party without the consent of the organisation.
By signing below the volunteer confirms they have read and understood this agreement, and the volunteer agrees to comply with this agreement.
